VASECTOMY
About 500,000 vasectomies are performed in the United States each year. They are usually performed in an office setting with local anesthesia.
Recently, Dr. Marmar and his associates have introduced a modification of this technique that may be completed with specialized instruments thru a 4mm space (smaller than a grain of rice). This procedure is rapid and minimizes patient discomfort.
The method is called "The In-Line Vasectomy". With this procedure, the vas deferens is cauterized but not removed. This technique is rapid and simple to perform. It has been highly effective with virtually no side effects. Dr. Marmar has performed over 4000 vasectomies with a high degree of patient satisfaction. The last 900 procedures were successfully completed with the "In-Line" technique.
ADVANTAGES OF INLINE VASECTOMY
- Done thru a 4mm opening
- No ligature or clip around the vas
- This an all cautery method
- Rapid & reliable
- Completed in 4-5 minutes per side
